You’re so focused on making an example of Hendrix that you’re completely missing the point the original author and I were making. You haven’t even begun to address it. Your harping about Hendrix and how Black musicians were appreciated in other countries before they were in their home country just further strengthens the point of the article. Either you are choosing to ignore it because you don’t have a good response or you don’t actually comprehend what we’re saying. We recognize that a handful of Black musicians were appreciated decades ago for their contributions to Rock music, but the point is we’ve been pidgeon-holed in musical genres in the decades since. It’s very relevant to the point about Prince and until you actually address that you’re just droning on about history that doesn’t matter in this context.
