You still run your code locally before testing on a server. And usually you do that in an environment that closely mimics the platform you're deploying to. That's been an advantage for MacOS until recently since it's based on Unix. Theoretically that should still be the case after transitioning to ARM but running virtual machines is probably going to be an issue.
