Yes, I used the word fear in my initial response. Then I emphasized OVER AND OVER that fear and violence are NOT the only forms of racism that people endure, or in your sentiment, relevant. You kept focusing on that word. You kept bringing up violent Black people on some tangent. Were you trying to argue that Asian people have more to fear from Black people than they do White people?
And I'm definitely doing my child a service to teach him to recognize when people are gaslighting him.
At least you finally recognized the experience your friends have likely had in this country. That's all I was getting at and it had nothing to do with fear. People experience all sorts of things that negatively affect them in life, like racism. It doesn't have to be a hindrance to their progress. But it can be pain that they carry with them and to dismiss it as irrelevant just because you cannot relate is ignorant and insulting.
