We gave up on cross-platform group texts a a few years ago and convinced a bunch of friends to just use Signal for that. Works great. It's not as "pretty" as iMessage but cuts down on the nuisance of reactions being explained in text or messages getting out of order. It would be nice if everyone could get on the same page with RCS but cellular messaging may soon be a relic of the past.
