Ugh. This is a perfect example of why it's infuriating to hear White conservatives invoking Martin Luther King, Jr. as part of their campaign to tell Black and Brown people to shut up. You say you "know MLK's insight is true." What insight is that exactly? Let me guess, it's half of that one sentence from that one speech from the only Black person you learned about in history class. People probably tell you not talk about Martin Luther King, Jr. because you probably don't know anything about Martin Luther King, Jr. and you're misquoting him as part of your entitled argument. You think you sound enlightened but you're just illustrating the problem that we absolutely are NOT talking about in this country. Ironically, you're also making yourself an example of one of King's "insights" about racial ignorance.
