Perhaps not "attacking" but definitely chastising. To the author's point, one-half of one quote from MLK seems to be the only thing a lot of White conservatives even know about the man. They do quote it "at" us from an entitled sense of moral superiority. Just look how many times that one-half of one quote has been misappropriated in an argument against CRT. If these people had a clue about how radical and despised King was and what he really wrote and said, they'd be trying to ban teaching about him as well. I suspect some already have and more will.
