Not to be too stereotypical, but I was an engineering major. I know a lot of Asian people that I’m still good friends with to this day.

Racism doesn’t have to result in violence for it to be relevant. And it doesn’t have to happen to you to feel apprehensive about it. I’ve seen and learned about plenty of racism towards Asians in “the most free country on Earth” over the years to not dismiss it as irrelevant. And we’re starting to see the myth of the “model minority” eroding because more Asian Americans are speaking up about their negative experiences in this country instead of being the quiet stereotype White people have come to expect over the past 5 or 6 decades.

So why don’t YOU talk to an Asian person about their experiences and see what is relevant to them? Just maybe you’ll see the irony of you whining about White people being persecuted while dismissing the experiences of others.
