In my experience, this is something I usually see from conservative commenters online who are criticizing liberals for being too focused on race. They like to portray themselves as being enlightened, only judging people by the content of their character. All too often this is accompanied by some reference to Black people being slaves on the Democratic plantation (no racial undertones there). Throw in some shout outs to the Black people who are “independent thinkers” because they think like them and tens of millions of other people. But that must just be a coincidence since these people can’t actually tell that the people they are praising are Black.

When someone says they are color blind, to me that just means that anyone who is not like them does not matter and might as well be invisible.
