I used to complain about the prequel trilogy constantly and have practically re-written them in my head.

But 7-9 were such an incoherent mess that they made 1-3 better. To me that was the true disappointment. They had a chance to forge ahead without Lucas's focus on cramming as many species and spaceships onscreen at once because "the tech finally caught up with his imagination." Instead we got 3 different movies that all seemed to be hell-bent on dumping out anything built before it.

I will still watch 1-3 while shaking my head. But I barely got through The Rise Of Skywalker the first time. The most exciting part of that movie is when Wedge shows up. Thankfully the tv series have been good.
