I never said I don’t see color. Of course I do. The author claims he does not see color. And the person responding to me was proposing that we would not be able to distinguish race if we suddenly could not see color.

I recognize racial differences because it’s part of who we are as human beings. It does not absolutely define us but we can’t separate ourselves from it. We can look at people as individuals. We can also make generalizations. But ultimately we should judge people on their actions and words. I am not going to say that I don’t recognize different skin colors and waste lots of time and energy explaining my intent when people call me out on it instead of simply communicating better.
