I don’t believe that. That’s pretty much the generic talking point I hear from people on the right all the time when they refer to us as slaves on the Democratic plantation, as if that’s an incentive to align with them. Black people are just as diverse in culture and thought as any other “community.” But I do think most minorities have a problem with any of us joining the party that has shown time and time again that they could care less about us. If Republicans would actually focus on fiscal conservatism and call out the racism amongst their member it would go a long way towards encourages more minorities that are conservative but don’t see a place in the Republican party.
