I certainly don't view superhero movies as high art, but considering the source material, the current era of this genre is superb entertainment. I really thought they were going to jump the shark when they decided to make a movie with a talking tree and a talking raccoon, but they made that work so well. And mad props to Marvel for the continuity they've managed to maintain across all their movies. It's allowed for a type of character development that you could only do on television previously. I think they're great and getting to know these characters over the span of more than a decade definitely has created an emotional bond as deep as any of the best characters in cinema history.
