I certainly don't think my cousins are a different race because they're in a higher tax bracket than me. I'll have to ask them if they think I'm a different shade of Black. And I want to see a report that says White people think they are different races bases on income. This 15-year-old survey is full of contradictions and this is the kicker:

More than eight-in-ten adults in each group also say they know a person of a different race whom they consider a friend.

I don't believe that. Our country is still too segregated. A study in 2014 paints the opposite picture, at least for one race. (Or all the White races? So confusing.). 75% of White Americans have no non-White friends. Yeah, I'm sure they have someone they work with or a neighbor. But someone they spend real time with and know as a person? Nope. It's a big part of why there's so much division in the U.S. right now - we don't really know each other.
