No it doesn't. And in this case it is very easy to speak the truth without being offensive, especially since you know you're being offensive. If he didn't know that he wouldn't have written the article which is basically a big middle finger to those he knows he's offending. The irony is that you're both bending over backwards to protect your own feelings at the expense of others.

To continue this is pointless. You've taken it to this extreme as if you're a Vulcan who is in total control of their emotions and would never hold anyone accountable for anything they do unintentionally. And gone on this tangent as if the law has anything to do with what we're supposed to be discussing.

This is good lesson for me. I have a young son that I am responsible for molding into a decent human being. Part of that is showing empathy and recognizing other people's experiences. Also, not putting up with gaslighting from people like you.
