You didn’t say it but you sure as hell implied it. Otherwise, what were you basing the “especially from someone who doesn’t have to think about race and racism” comment on?

I literally explained that in my response. And you’re asking me about reading comprehension?

The intent to offend is important. If I set out to offend you, whether I succeed or not doesn’t matter: I’m an asshole

Aren't you still an asshole when I tell you that your words offend me even after you explain your intent and insist on continuing to say it while telling me that it's my problem, not yours?

If I sexually assault someone thinking that it's consensual then can I just say I didn't intend to hurt them and it's on them to decide to feel assaulted or not?

Seriously, the amount of effort you and the author are spending trying to defend saying something you know offends people instead of showing empathy clearly shows your intent.
